Founder and President of CEO Resources, Inc., Thomas J. Sherwin is a sought after and nationally recognized coach to and consultant for CEOs. Since 1990, he has provided advice and counsel to CEOs and their boards as they and their companies have successfully moved through complex transitions to their next plateaus. Since the company’s inception, Tom has advised more than 200 CEOs from across the country.

An acknowledged public speaker and professional seminar leader, Tom was the creator and moderator of the Smaller Business Association of New England’s highly successful CEO Roundtable Series for ten years and has Chaired the CEO Resources Forum now in its 17th year. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, the Boston Business Journal, Business Week, INC. Magazine and BNN’s Corporate Accountability Report.

Previously, Tom was a senior executive with extensive hands-on experience in early stage through Fortune 200 environments with medical device companies American Hospital Supply, Surgicot, G. D. Searle, Whittaker General Medical and Electro-Biology. Tom was President of Surgicot Flexible Packaging and Founder, CEO and Chairman of Osteo-Technology, Inc. He also completed a term as interim-CEO and Chairman of the Board of Maasdam Pow’R-Pull, Inc.

Tom is a Past- President of the New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD-NE) for whom he has been a Director and served previously as Program Chair for three years. Recently, Tom was among the first 100 directors to receive NACD’s Certificate of Director Education, which is recognized by NASDAQ and ISS. A former member of the Board of Directors of The Smaller Business Association of New England, Tom has also served on the boards of UMASS Dartmouth Family Business Center, the Mazie Foundation and was Founding Chairman of Framingham Public Access (television) Corporation. For six years he was an elected as a Member of Town Meeting for Framingham, Massachusetts, where he was Vice-Chair of the Ways and Means Committee.

Tom is a member of the Board of Directors of non-client Enefco, Inc. He previously served on the boards of TNCO, Inc., Maasdam, Inc, and Osteo-Technology, Inc.

He advises client boards in the areas of corporate governance generally and education, self-evaluation, succession and board strategy development, specifically.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College and a Juris Doctor Degree from Lewis and Clark Law School, Portland, Oregon, and is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association (associate member). He has served terms as Chair of the Development Committee of the National Board of Alumni of Lewis & Clark College and then as New England Chapter President. Until recently he served on the Board of Visitors of Lewis & Clark Law School.
